# Build a GEO strategy

Prioritize the topics, prompts, evidence, and outcomes that connect AI visibility to revenue.

Start with buying decisions, not a large list of prompts. The strategy should explain whose decision you want to influence, which questions shape it, what you need the market to understand, and which proof makes that position believable.

## Define the commercial outcome

Choose one primary outcome for each initiative: category discovery, shortlist inclusion, objection handling, brand accuracy, or conversion. A prompt can be popular and still have little relevance to revenue.

## Map the journey

| Stage | Typical question | Useful content |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Problem | “Why is this happening?” | Research, diagnosis, glossary |
| Approach | “How can we solve it?” | Frameworks, tutorials, benchmarks |
| Category | “What type of tool or partner?” | Category guides, evaluation criteria |
| Comparison | “Which option is right for us?” | Alternatives, comparison, use cases |
| Validation | “Can this work in our situation?” | Case studies, methodology, proof |

## Choose your narrative

Write down the few claims you want an engine to communicate accurately. Each claim needs a source of proof and a clear owner. If your website, profiles, sales materials, and third-party coverage disagree, the engine has no stable story to retrieve.

## Prioritize

Score opportunities by business value, current visibility gap, ability to provide distinctive proof, and realistic distribution. Favor clusters where your expertise is defensible over broad topics where you can only repeat consensus.
